Culture of Peace in School with NVC

The film "Behind every action there is a need" is based on the idea that conflicts are inevitable - and they can also be the foundation for development of social and personal skills - if we are able to get closer and focus on the needs behind the conflict. The movie presents tools to understand and face a conflict by describing facts, feelings and needs and asking for a specific action. NVC (Nonviolent Communication) is a universal tool box you can use to solve conflicts and restore trust. Watch movie.

Peaceful presence at Risskov school

In this film from Risskov school (Denmark) we see how teachers and educators have begun to focus on peaceful presence through exercises. Children learn for the first time to turn their attention inward and feel themselves. We see how far they have come during the first year where we follow a boy with ADHD.

Peaceful presence at Langaa school

In this film from Langå school (Denmark) we go more into depth with the third grade. The film starts with a 1-minute exercise, so you can feel how you can increase your own concentration. Birgitte Prahm has created an inclusive peaceful learning environment. In this film we see different presence exercises from Jes Bertelsen's pentagram. The focus is on classroom management and the teacher as a role model. We watch the positive effect on the social and academic environment in the classroom and we see how far you can get when you as a teacher have a contact with an inner peace.
